Empowering Citizens through Media and Information Literacy In a democratic society, freedom of speech is one of the most valued rights. It allows us to express our thoughts, beliefs, and opinions without fear of censorship or persecution. However, with this freedom comes great responsibility. In today’s digital age, where information can be shared with just one click, being media and information literate (MIL) is essential to exercising this freedom wisely and constructively. As a media and information literate individual, I believe I can contribute greatly to my community and country by promoting informed expression, encouraging dialogue, and fostering accountability.
